Kids Against Hunger MealPacks are prepared in variety of ways around the world. Here are a few simple recipes ideas for your protein packed, nutritious MealPack.

Taco Rice: 1 bag of Kids Against Hunger MealPack, 7 cups water, 1 can tomato soup, 1 cup cooked taco meat

  • Boil water, add MealPack. When rice is cooked through add soup and meat. Stir, heat through.

Pork Rice: 1 bag of MealPack, 7 cups water, 1 cup BBQ sauce, 1 cup cooked pork

  • Boil water, add MealPack. When rice is cooked through add BBQ sauce and meat. Stir, heat through.

Chicken & Rice: 1 bag of MealPack, 7 cups water, 1 can cream of chicken soup, 1 cup cooked chicken

  • Boil water, add MealPack. When rice is cooked through add soup and meat. Stir, heat through.

Chicken, Apples & Rice: 1 bag of MealPack, 7 cups water, 1 cup cooked chicken pieces, 1 cup chopped apples.

  • Boil water, add MealPack. When rice is cooked through add apples and meat. Stir, heat through and cook until apples are tender.

Ham & Rice: 1 bag of MealPack, 7 cups water, 1 can cream of celery soup, 1 cup cooked ham pieces

  • Boil water, add MealPack. When rice is cooked through add soup and meat. Stir, heat through.

Smokies & Rice: 1 bag of MealPack, 7 cups water, 1 can tomato soup, one 8-ounce package of smokies

  • Boil water, add MealPack. When rice is cooked through add soup and smokies. Stir, heat through.

Beef & Rice: 1 bag of MealPack, 7 cups water, 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1 cup leftover chuck roast

  • Boil water, add MealPack. When rice is cooked through add soup and meat. Stir, heat through.

Tuna & Rice: 1 bag of MealPack, 7 cups water, 1 can cheddar cheese soup, 1 can tuna

  • Boil water, add MealPack. When rice is cooked through add soup and tuna. Stir, heat through.

Jambalaya: 8 ounces pork sausage, 1 chopped onion, 1 chopped green pepper, 1 chopped stalk of celery, 2 TBLS hot sauce, 1 bag of MealPack

  • Sauté sausage until cooked, remove from pan. Add vegetables and sauté a few minutes. Return sausage to pan. Add hot sauce, 1 bag of MealPack, water and cook as directed on bag.

Chicken & Broccoli: 8 cups of water, 1 bag of MealPack, 1 TBLS olive oil, 1 bag frozen broccoli, 1 pound chicken (cut up), 1 can cream of mushroom soup, basil and parsley

  • Let water boil. Add all ingredients and cook in large pot for about 30 minutes.

Sausage & Rice: 1 bag of MealPack, 1 ½ cups chopped tomato, 12 ounces bulk sausage, 1 clove garlic (chopped), ½ tsp. hot sauce, 1 onion, water

  • Brown sausage and onion. Place 8 cups water in large pot. Bring to a boil. Add 1 bag of MealPack, tomatoes, meat & onion mixture and seasonings. Simmer on low for 20 minutes.

Mexi-Mix: 1 bag of MealPack, 1 cup salsa, 1 16 ounce can corn, 1 16 ounce can black beans

  • Prepare MealPack as directed on bag. Add remaining ingredients and heat through.

Oriental Mix: 1 bag of MealPack, 2 TBLS soy sauce, 1 bag frozen oriental vegetable mix

  • Prepare MealPack as directed on bag, adding soy sauce and frozen vegetables until tender.

Other Ways to Prepare your MealPack:
Boil 3 cups of water with 3 cups of either chicken, beef or vegetable stock

-OR-

Dissolve 3 bouillon cubes (chicken, beef or vegetable flavor) in boiling water
Optional: Add any meat or diced vegetables available to your meal.
Add 1 MealPack to boiling water and cook 30 minutes, stirring occasionally
(If mixture is too thick, add more water)

Tips:
1) Boil MealPack with 5 cups of water instead of the recommended 6-10. (Flavor is stronger.)
2) Add cooked shredded chicken, cooked stew meat or hamburger (browned) to MealPack.
3) Add various peppers & spices to casserole. (green/red peppers)
4) Add hot peppers & salsa to casserole for a spicy version.
5) Add a can of cream of mushroom soup to the MealPack.
